Blocking a visitor

Stop recording and chat for someone who is abusing them.

Block visitor. On a recording or on a person, click the block button. That browser stops being recorded and the chat is hidden from it. Blocking a person blocks every browser they have been identified in. Anyone on the team can do this.

A block is kept against the id the tracker stores in the browser. Someone who clears their site data, or switches browser, arrives as a new visitor.

Block address. For that case, every recording shows the address the visit came from, with Block address beside it for an owner. Requests from that address are refused before anything is stored, whatever browser they use. In Settings, Blocked you can also type an address or a range, such as 203.0.113.0/24.

Be careful with addresses: a phone on mobile data changes address often, and one office or VPN can share an address with people you do want. Block the visitor first, and the address only when they keep coming back.

Unblocking. Both lists are in Settings, Blocked, each with a button to remove it.
